So what exactly do Giving Circle members do? How does all this strategy translate in real life activities?

Giving Circle members contribute in a variety of ways

• Make a tax deductible financial contribution. This the quickest and most straightforward way to help. We suggest a starting donation of $150. Each dollar contributed by our members makes our grant that much larger and every single dollar our members contribute is invested back into Alexandria’s children. You may contribute at any time by mailing a check made out to WGCA/ACT to:

  or by clicking the Make a Donation button on the left. Eliminate Paypal fees for us by mailing a check.
   
• Subscribe to and read our e-newsletter. Even if you do not have time to commit to Giving Circle activities or attend events, a few minutes reading our newsletter will let you know what is happening in Alexandria and how your contribution is being used.
   
• Attend a Giving Circle educational event. There are spring and fall forums with guest speakers as well as other events about the Giving Circle’s gift priorities and recipients. Some events are during the day and some are in the evening because our members have a variety of scheduling needs.
   
• Volunteer for a Giving Circle gift recipient. - This is a way to see your financial contributions at work and truly engage with your community.
   
• Volunteer at at our annual Community Service Day in February for ALIVE or the Wright to Read Book Drive at the Campagna Center.
   
• Share your commitment to service and your community by bringing your children to a Giving Circle Kids event. Many parents want to participate in community service activities with their children, but finding activities that welcome young children can be difficult. There is a Giving Circle Kids event each quarter for children ages 3 and above.
   
• Volunteer for the Giving Circle of Alexandria at a level that works for you....this could be as simple as hosting an event, helping with phone calls, or a more significant time commitment such serving as a committee chair, on the Gift Committee or on our Board of Directors.
