Dear WGCA Members and Friends,

Welcome to the third program year of the Women's Giving Circle of Alexandria!

Over the summer, more than 60 of your fellow members were busy organizing the specifics of what promises to be an exciting year for the WGCA and our community. I am energized by the variety of WGCA membership and volunteer activities planned for the coming months. Read on for information about the events you can look forward to as a supporter of our circle.

New this Fall  - Community Open Houses
Part social networking, part in-depth discussion, this Fall's Community Open Houses will be an opportunity for you to get to know other members while you learn more about community needs and hear firsthand about the results of WGCA Community Gifts.

The Community Open Houses will take the place of the Fall Forum, in an attempt to accommodate members' busy schedules. There will be five Community Open Houses over a three-week period at locations throughout Alexandria. We hope that at least one will be held at a location and time that is convenient for you to attend. Each will feature a different speaker from a local city agency or non-profit organization and will focus on a slightly different topic. You are welcome to attend as many as you like!

Mark your calendar now!

Peggy & Karen cropFamily Community Service Event
Set the tone for the upcoming holiday season with a volunteer opportunity for your entire family.

Details on a second partnership with ALIVE! in mid-November will be communicated to members in October.

Beyond your generous financial contribution, 100% of which goes to support community initiatives, there are no membership requirements. When and if you are interested in volunteering your time and expertise, consider joining one of three WGCA Committees - Community Service, Gifts, or Resource Building.

I hope to see you at one or more of the membership events identified above. I know that you will find them fun, interesting, and inspirational.

Sincerely,

Holly Sloan
