Dear Members & Friends,
Giving Circle Kids is a fairly new and exciting addition to
our Community Service Committee. Giving Circle Kids offers
community service activities for children three years and older. Projects
for Giving Circle Kids are fun, understandable for the children
who work on them, flexible enough to make participation easy for their
parents, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of other children
in our community.
Please read below about the current Giving Circle Kids
project, which benefits Healthy Families Alexandria, and culminates next
Friday, April 11. You can also find out how to get involved in this
year's Lemonaide event.
I hope you will participate in these fun and rewarding events with your
children!

Giving Circle Kids
Fun
Community Service Projects that Help Alexandria's Kids!

Giving Circle
Kids "Birthday Box" created for ALIVE House,
Nov. 2007.
Support Healthy Families Alexandria,
a Giving Circle priority grant recipient, by taking your child shopping
for newborn gifts, birthday gifts, or books for kids ages 0-5 served by
Healthy Families' home visitation program.
You and your child can bring these items to Giving Circle member Tracy
Nickelsburg's home on or before Friday, April 11, where Giving
Circle Kids will prepare gift bags and enjoy other activities.
Some volunteers will be needed to help deliver gift bags to Healthy
Families on April 14.
Please email Margaret Rizzi to let her know how you and
your child would like to participate. For more details about this
family-friendly community service event, download the event flyer.

Lemonaide Day 2008
Kids
Helping Kids

You and your child can have fun and do good by setting up a lemonade
stand on your own or with friends. Lemonaide, an
organization run by kids, will provide lemonade, cups, a pitcher, a sign
and a t-shirt. The money raised from lemonade stands across the
City of Alexandria will be divided between two children-centered
charitable organizations, the Center for Alexandria's
Children and Coats for Kids.
To learn more about Lemonaide, visit their website.
You can sign up directly through that website or by sending an email to Giving Circle Kids coordinator
Margaret Rizzi.
